As a stander that there are copious situations that our Lord will use as lessons to teach us different things he needs us learn. One very strong lesson that continues to resonate strongly in my stand is: Where men fail God PREVAILS. We serve a Perfect, Heavenly Father who cannot fail. Our Lord does everything Perfectly. He looks nothing like this world or anyone in it. He never has to lower Himself to reach us but we must rise to Him. His love endures forever. He's perfectly faithful. He's perfectly just, righteous, holy. Our Lord is perfect. It doesn't get any better than that.
In our stand many will fail us, not just our prodigals, but our family, friends, pastors, church, counselors, etc. It is important not to get caught up in how others are failing us but rather to lose ourselves in how our Lord succeeds time and time again. He loves us, redeems us and our situation, and He is faithful. The fact is man is fallible. People will fail us just as much as we will fail them. In marriage restoration there is a lot of room for failure but that is what is so beautiful about the entire situation, God will NEVER fail. Our marriages will be restored and in the process He will be there for us every step of the way. So don't lose heart. Yes people will not always meet our expectations, especially our prodigals, but we need to continue to love them. It is a blessing to love a prodigal. It will teach you far more about yourself, your marriage, and the God you serve that loving a fairy tale spouse. Loving our failing prodigals helps us live out grace and turns our eyes back to our Gracious, Merciful, Father who loved us enough to sacrifice His perfect son for a bunch of failing sinners. God will always prevail where men fail. He loves us and longs for us all to be restored back to Him. He will not stop until that process is complete.
Father,
Lord, thank you for being so different from the world. Thank you for being above all things. Thank you for being perfect. Thank you for never failing. Thank you for your faithfulness, love, grace, mercy, and perfect plan to restore us back to You. Please Give our prodigals life. Open their eyes to their sin and your forgiveness. Prepare the standers for their return and may we all keep our eyes on You and meditate on all that You are. I ask all things in the mighty name of Jesus and by the power of His blood.
